Characters are a critical part of this website since the story is about the players above all things else. This site is also used to track changes and progression of some characters throughout the various games.

This guide page is used to describe the current standards for entering and updating characters.

The basic format of a character sheet should start with a summary of the character and end with the character sheets section. The sections between the two are based on the character, organized based on the most appropriate method for that character. This guide only describes the first and last section of every page.

Multiple Aliases

More so with Exalted, it is common for characters to have more than one name. Keep to a single page and use a "#REDIRECT [[Old Page]]" link on all the aliases to point them to the same page.

For example, if you have say "Krillen" as the mortal name, you would create a redirect on "Glorious Bastard of the Risen Sun" to point to Krillen. Then, just add the new version in the character section below.

Summary

The summary has two parts, the statistics of the character (all are optional) and a brief summary of the character. The following is just a bullet list to put as the statistics. Everything is optional as is the order at this point in time.

Character Sheets

This section must be the final section of the page. It is broken into subsections (i.e. === Sub Section ===) for every major point of the character's life. In game terms, there should be a character sheet for the current status of the game and one for the beginning of every major arc, including the initial character. Since most characters are created as mortals first, also include as the bottom-most character sheet what the character looked like as a mortal.

Put the most recent character sheet on top, going in reverse order.

The title of each sub-section is left up to the person creating the character sheet. The useful things in the title are the age of the character and the time of the character sheet. Year is sufficient in most cases. Include the age, so an entry might look like "The Fleeing Warrior (23 years old, 4A/211)". In general, it isn't important but it makes a nice touch to the character sheet.

Optionally, the first paragraph or so of each character sheet (sub-section) could be used to illustrate the state of the character or a brief description of where the character is at the beginning of the character sheet.

The character statistics itself are based on a set of nested lists.
