The DV bonus goes from +2 to +Essence against opponents who have a Valor equal to or less than the Dawn Caste's permanent Essence. If their Valor is greater than the Dawn Caste's Essence, the Dawn Caste does not get the bonus. Things immune to fear do not grant the Exalt the DV bonus either.
